Maggie and I made the most of our first day travelling today, to pop in to Taigh Chearsabhagh in North Uist. There is some incredibly technical and innovative community, inter-generational and museum work going on there as well as the War Exhibit, two artist’s solo exhibitions, a buzzing and lively cafe atmosphere too. The building hosts so many on-site opportunities with a darkroom, print area, a graphics company, retail outlet and cafe as well as museum and exhibition space.

We found a leaflet about the Uist Writers Group, hosted by Pauline Prior-Pitt on the last Thursday of the month.

We popped in to the Barra Historical Society (Dualchas) in the evening but there was a meeting going on – we will revisit tomorrow. We took the opportunity to scope out the shops, the area, where the buildings and projects are in advance of tomorrow’s meetings.
